Fireside Houjicha

Description

Origin

Fireside Houjicha is crafted from Yabukita tea cultivar, one of Japan’s most widely recognised tea cultivars, valued for its balanced flavour, fresh aroma, and gentle umami. Grown in the highlands of West Java and roasted with care, the tea transforms from a fresh green character into a warm, mellow infusion with a distinctive roasted depth.

Traditionally made with a blend of leaves and stems, the stems help create a lighter body, gentle natural sweetness, and a smoother roast with less bitterness. The high-temperature roasting also naturally reduces caffeine, making Houjicha especially easy to enjoy.

Tea Description

The liquor is reddish-brown with warm aromas of roasted grains and soft caramel. Smooth and mellow on the palate, it offers gentle sweetness and a rounded roasted character with very little bitterness.

The combination of Yabukita tea and roasted stems gives Fireside Houjicha its distinctive balance—warm, light, and comforting, with a clean finish that makes it particularly inviting in the evening.
